In particular, Squalene limits the growth of some types of cancer, in particular those affecting the colorectal, pancreas, endometrium, thyroid, breast, prostate, bladder and lung.

Populations that regularly use Extra Virgin Olive Oil are less likely to get sick with certain types of cancer, whose proliferation is inhibited by Squalene.

A step forward in the pharmacological field

Recent studies in the pharmacological field have also demonstrated that squalene can be used as a carrier of particular nanomolecules of anticancer drugs. These new drugs have been shown to be ten times more effective in treating cancer than traditional drugs. These are still preliminary studies which have shown efficacy only in the laboratory and on some non-human animal tissues and which therefore require caution but bode well.
